Generic imbruvica that is ibrutinib has been filed as ANDA by Natco Pharma India with marketing partner alvogen , USA to USFDA in Jan 2019 for 6 months marketing in US.Hope it gets approval though the drug is patented till 2023. With help of all generic version with quality will get fast approval

US drug patent law encourages a company to challenge a drug patent in court as a legal means to make faster expirations of a patent. If successful-and its 50/50 -that company gets exclusive generic rights for a period of time. However-in my experience as a retail pharmacist(retired)-the generic for that 6 months is only slightly cheaper. The real benefit is when the 6 months is up any legitimate drug company can also make a generic. thats when the price really plummets.
