Sasperella, so sorry for your daughter's situation. I know it is most dreadful for you to see her this sick and to not know what is going on.
I am sorry, but this is a site diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia which is for the most part a cancer effecting older people. We cannot diagnose even for each other.
Wishing for you a speedy access to a Dr. with expertise in blood-related diseases.
I'm so sorry that you're worried Sasperella. It sounds very scary. (I raised two girls and it's harder to have a sick child that it is to be sick yourself, isn't it?)
It's also scary to not get a lot of info from your doctor. In my experience with other health issues I've had docs keep their suspicions to themselves until the results come back so that they don't alarm patients unnecessarily, although in these days of the internet that probably doesn't work any more. It sounds like you're doing what any mother would - look for possible answers on line.
I hope you get some clarity and good news with the tests tomorrow. If your daughter does get a CLL/SLL diagnosis (it's an "old person's disease" and very rare in a young teen) we will be here to support you both. If it's another blood disorder or cancer then a hematologist or Hematologist/oncologist would be a good referral.
It is very unlikely that someone your daughter’s age would have CLL. I did notice, from a previous post, that you have a family history which includes NHLs. I don’t know where you are in the world, but in your position I would push to have your daughter seen by a hematologist (an oncologist who deals specifically with blood cancers). You really need a medical doctor who will work with you to figure out what is going on. Anyone in an online group, at this point, would just be guessing.
I’m sorry to hear of your daughter's platelets but this isn’t the right site and we cannot offer general medical advice. This is a site for people with a specific blood cancer called CLL.
Hope she's better soon.
I'm going to close your post to further replies because this site is for older people with leukaemia and you may get some replies that are not helpful for your daughter.
Jackie
