Random low grade fevers anyone?

Hello, I notice after working too much or too much activity, I get the chills sometimes in the evening then run a low grade fever for less than 12 hours, have bone aches and move slow from it. Typically resolves if I just stay down. Does anyone else experience this?

Do you know whether your neutrophil and immunoglobulin counts (IgA, IgG and IgM) are in the healthy range? Your immunity could be such that you are struggling to keep on top of infections.

Thanks for you reply AussieNeil, within normal ranges but at the low end. I tend to be highly active but noticed after starting Venclexta 1/14 felt great, after Rituxan 3/4 these chills pop up when very tired. I'm guessing you are spot on, just biting off more than I can chew after which I receive a reminder from my body!

Hey!

What are your actual temperature readings?

There are normal variations, they will vary thru out the day and with activity.

There are drivers of fever other than infection, CLL, drugs...

As AussieNeil advises, collect data on yr bloods, you need full bloods, including throid etc. any doc'll know! + record temp 3 x per day and when you feel unwell.

Worth checking for causes of low grade infection - urine, chest etc

38°+ is the get help urgently reading!!

Seems to me you should be getting checked out by your favourite Dr!

Wishing you well.

Thank you for the advice! I will keep a steady chart, it's just when I get random chills and a hot face that I notice it going up a degree or two above normal, then it subsides if I rest.

In a word, yes! Chills quite often, year round and the same with the low grade fever. Have had them ever since just before diagnosis. My IgG is very low. I get IVIG treatments; they usually keep me from getting really sick, but fighting off the infections makes me feel lousy.

Hi Chris, I was like this for months every evening just before I started Ibrutinib. It got worse and worse until the treatment then it was much better. It still happens but not as badly. I have low Immunoglobulins too, that hasn't changed with treatment though. Still have episodes of "oh no... I have a bad cold, flu whatever coming on... and then the next day it is gone!".

Thank you Janice, sounds exactly like it. I am in treatment but same thing, lay down for 1/2 day then voile! Gone!

Hi: I too have this issue. I usually find the fevers (and associated chills) are more a result of my pushing myself too hard to do whatever. I find that as soon as I rest for an hour (or however), my temperature becomes more normal and the chills stop. For me it seems to be a physical response to a physical stressing. Hope this helps a bit.
