She has been through imbutran now on ventalox platelets are at 65 so the ventalox is failing. She has been on the medication for approximately 2 years. Had only been DX for 5 years. The started tx right after DX with target therapy. I am wanting to know the success of stem cell tx???

Hi Dawn-Marie,

Stem cell transplant success is age dependant, which is why it tends to be offered to younger patients with aggressive, refractory CLL. There have been continuing developments towards achieving higher success rates, so your friend's outcome will considerably depend on where she has it done and how well they are keeping up with new developments. We do have a few members that have gone through stem cell transplants, including Dr Brian Koffman, who blogged about his experiences. His didn't take, but Ibrutinib then CAR-T has worked well for him.

Thank you for responding! She is 56 years old. Going to be doing it at the Mayo Clinic in Minnasota. I talk to her about the Car T therapy . I guess they are doing this because of the clones.

Good to hear your friend is having her bone marrow transplant done at an internationally recognised CLL centre of excellence!

My friend came out of her bone marrow test with NO CLL in the bone marrow! Thankyou Jesus! So the stem cell implant will be taking place. 6-8 weeks🙏Works!

Hi Dawn, finally got on here. My treatment is on hold again because I'm doing so good. They have concerns with my antibodies so I have to trust them as they've done good and brought me this far. Love you my dear-dear friend!

How old is she ? Interesting , so why did she stop Venetoclax

She stop because of MDR negative. She back on venetoclax and the plan now is car-t therapy. She had to many antibodies for stem cell.
