Is there a post that explains all these acronyms you all seem to know? I am having trouble understanding many of the posts because I have no idea what they mean. I am new to this forum and it all sounds like alphabet soup to me. What is ALC ? IhGV? FRC or is it FCR? Clearly there is a lot to learn, but a guide would help.

Its like sipping a drink from a firehose... 🌊🌊🌊
This is a good resource, put together for the CLL Patient conference about a year ago... by the Canadian CLL Patient Advocacy Group or CLLPAG.

Another resource is cllsociety.org It also has good basic information for newcomers, as well as up to date reports about latest research. Chris’s comparison of absorbing all of the information about CLL, and sipping from a firehouse is a perfect description of how it feels to be a newcomer here. The good news is that most patients will have plenty of time to process things. Don’t try to learn everything at once. Much of what you read today might not apply if / when you need treatment.
Hello t2aa
I am as guilty as anyone, I use too many acronyms as well. I use a lot of acronyms because I can not remember how to spell everything out. One should write out the complete word followed by acronym in parentheses at least once to increase understanding of text. It is actually one of my pet peeves, as I am retired engineer and spent fifteen years on technical committees defining national and international ISO engineering, design and testing standards. The US government is filled with acronyms they do not even know what they mean. I asked the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to write a glossary with their forms, said no-can-do, it would take legal department 3 years to review and by then it was outdated.
