Hi Everyone,
Nice to meet you! My mother was diagnosed with Non-Hodgins Lymphoma. She was previously treated with a full cycle (6 rounds) of chemo on 2012 but relapsed in 2017. Apparently she has completed the 2nd cycle (6 rounds) on April 2018. Results were good back the days.
However, things didn't turn out as we expected. After 6 months of treatment, the hematologist informed to us that there are new lymph nodes developed near the chest area. We were very disappointed and devastated by the news. Not to mentioned on the emotional breakdown that I had.
As she is unable to have a stronger chemo, hence the doctor prescribed her with Ibrutinib.
She has started beginning of this month. Apparently, there are some side effects she is encountering and I believe some of them are quite common.
I) Fatigue
II) Increase heart beat (yesterday was up to 140+ but now back to 120+)
III) Off and on Burping (Gas in the stomach): Any ideas on what is the best way to ease it?
IV) Some pox on her face and dots on her hand (suspecting it could be due to low platelet count)
V) Slight panting
As I'm new to this forum and I saw lots of sharing here for this medication. Hence, it gives me hope for this treatment.
Appreciate the valuable advice and support for me and my mom to pass this hurdle. God bless everyone.
