CT scan waiting game
Sepsur,
The picture is kinda scary....is it just me, or does anyone else think the CT machine looks like a drunk donut holding up its arms with mouth wide open...
Scott
I didn't, but I do now!
It reminded me of a ‘Stargate’ - especially as it spoke to me with an American accent!!
I’m in the same boat , my Dr will hook me up to an IV before and after the CT to flush out the contrast. Ask your Dr to do that. John
Agree .. but but I’d rather go in that rather then an mri. Mri are safe why don’t they use imaging rather then CT scans that pump you full of radiation?
It’s what an intoxicated doughnut does!
Hi I have had CT Scans in the past with dye but never told to drink lots of water afterward. Thanks for letting us know I will ask why at my next one later this year.
Regards
Ann
This topic came up several months ago and I was surprised to learn then after a CT scan we are suppose to flush our body with water/fluid to get rid of the dye. Like you, no one ever told me that little fact.
Oh apparently if you don’t, you can get kidney infection leading to kidney failure...so I said”again, no thanks, I like to pee”....the joys of all these tests. At the same time I popped into ICU, I visit patients who’ve woken up after coma...share war stories & chew the fat. Anyway, I digress, I have this scar about 9in long under my tit, I have no idea what it’s from, nor does my wife, so I whip it out and ask the Ward sister/nurses what it is....blank faces...no-one knew “we’ll have to check my notes”...... the solution to this mystery is far more obvious....you know those coma dreams of alien abduction...well they weren’t dreams, I knew it....felt real to me😬
You are so lucky....I never, not once, in my life saw a Ghost, Alien, Bigfoot, or even a UFO zipping past.
I have noticed the last 6 months though my dreams have become extremely vivid and sort of crazy...last week I dreamed I had Leg Cancer and they had to amputate my leg...but Dr. Van Beek from Harvard was going to attach a donor leg using something called "Molecular Welding" so I wouldn't need stitches...then using a new technique called Dual Forced Fusion DNA they were going to make my DNA take over the leg...so it wouldn't just be a zombie leg.....
Sort of strange if you ask me. But one of those dreams it took me a minute to square away reality (No Dr. Van Beek)
If you want to expand on the theme of those dreams -I recommend a little hypoactive ICU delirium - hypoactive is preferable to hyperactive - unless you wish to add a little S&M to your dreams ( if I was tied down or restrained in anyway - it translated into the most debauched S&M Ward scene in my delirium) 🤣🤣
Go hiking. OWN the woods. Every tree! Best hopes for great results.
Thanks Scott at least I know it is not just in the U.K. I will be sure to do this next time.

Ann
