CLL in the lungs?

Has anyone out there had their CLL progress into their lungs? I have this and am curious of what I can expect with Imbruvica. I will start on that next week.

I developed started passing out and apparently developed pneumonia while on Ibrutinib. Was hospitalized for two weeks and immediately taken off Ibrutinib. A pulmology test was done and showed CLL infiltration. I may not be using the right terms. In the end, this all resolved after the cytology report was read with no follow up needed. Did not go back on Ibrutinib. Began RB a few months later. Now in Remission.

I believe a side effect of Ibrutinib is possible pneumonia. I would question going on Ibrutinib given your lung issue.

I was diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia 6 months post FCR. I guess this was a result of having a very poor immune system, however 10 days of antibiotics in hospital saw me right as rain again. Hooray for the nurses and care workers...

good luck

cheers

My 66 year old husband has been on Imbruvica now for one month one day. He has had a history of Asthma but it had not bothered him in years until he started the Imbruvica. Daily asthma. Dr doesn't seemed concerned just use his inhaler. Biggest side effect is joint and bone pain. Both feet left ankle joint. Black and blue and swollen. Left wrist also. Was told only to take Tylenol which doesn't help the swelling. Ice and elevation. Hard to do when you want to go King fishing!

I have lung nodules that are measurable that wax and wane in size with the rest of nodes, presently on ibrutinib which is controlling the disease quite well, keeping it at bay. They still refer to those pulmonary nodes in the CT scan reports but in milimeter size.

Hi, I have had CLL progressed to my lungs in the form of nodules. I plan on going on Ibrutinib very soon and was also wondering how it would work. Do you have enlarged lymph nodes and/or nodules in the lungs. I have both. Has your doctor had other patients with CLL in the lungs and treated them with Ibrutinib?

I have some small nodules in my lungs, but I just found out today that they reviewed some slides from a broncoscopy I had done recently and found that there is no CLL in my lungs after all! They did find some acute inflammation and bacteria and will treat it with Levaquin but my Dr still wants me to start on the Imbruvica today. Today would be my first day on Imbruvica. I don't know if my Dr has had any patients with the same condition. My guess would be yes since she's a very good Dr at the OSU Wexner Hospital in Columbus Ohio. Her name is Jennifer Woyach.

Good luck on Ibrutinib. Glad you don’t have nodules.
