Hi everyone and thank you for your information and words of wisdom. My brother is now out of hospital and seems in good form. He has not been given any extra meds, he is drinking lots of water and carefully following Dr’s instructions. So like all we will take one day at a time.

Did you find out what was causing the rash? And the reason for your brother being admitted.

Yes, as Jim954 said, it was a very speedy reaction to Ibrutinib causing a build up of uric acid. As for the rash it seems to have just disappeared....for now!
I'm glad to hear your brother's getting better now, and that the rash has gone. Big relief.
I too have had rashes at various times since starting Ibrutinib, and I know how horrible they can be. My most recent rash seemed to be triggered by starting Co-Trimoxazole (as a prophylatic against a certain lung infection). I've now stopped the Co-Trim and the rash is slowly (very slowly) improving.
But I'm aware that your brother had other complications going on and there can be many different reasons for rashes. I hope he continues to do well,
Best wishes,
Paula
