Hi, I'm new here, just informed about my CLL 30 days ago, Viet Nam veteran 68-69, agent orange. I posted a question earlier but I had not completed the registration process completely. I will read the post and try to learn.

Welcome Test_Tech. We were on Okinawa when you were in Nam. I do thank you so very much for your service too. I believe another Nam vet was turned down for disability. I think you have to be receiving treatment to be concidered. It is the same for law suits (for us) you have to be receiving treatment. Certainly hope you won’t need it for a very long time. We are hoping the same.

Welcome to the club (that none of us want to belong to :- / ). You will find people of all ages and walks of life here. I was recently diagnosed at 56y with no risk factors. It is encouraging that there are many on this site who have had CLL for a long time and continue to thrive. I hope you are doing well. Some of us (not me) have no symptoms!

Hi. Thank you for your service. I read somewhere that Viet Nam vets were prone to cll because of the agent orange. You should be able to get a disability pension and any meds needed for the cll If you go through the VA if and when you need them. I wish you luck with the disability. A friend of mine ,he doesn't have cll , but he received pension and meds after being diagnosed with diabetes, which is another disease contributed to serving in Nam. Could be a while before you need treatment. This is a very informative site. Good luck and God Bless.
