I forgot to take a dose of my Ibrutinib yesterday- what is the rule - do I take as soon as I remember which is the next morning (my regular dose is at night) do I wait until my regular time today and then I have double doses myself in one day? Have a call into doctor but they take awhile to get back. Thanks!

What do I do if I forget to take IMBRUVICA?

If it is more than 12 hours until your next dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. Then continue taking IMBRUVICA at the usual scheduled time.

If it is less than 12 hours until your next dose, skip the missed dose. Then take the next dose of IMBRUVICA at the usual scheduled time.

Do not take extra capsules to make up the missed dose

No double dose.....take it the same time you would the next day.....that is what our orientation told us....I think Stepizzo said it better than I could....especially with the time element.....

If I were you, I would call my Dr. since you seem not to have been told what to do in that situation.

Believe it or not...one day I took it twice!!!

I did very much worry about that...but missing it one day not so much, because my Doctor advise me to discontinue taking it in prep for an endoscopy, which ended up being rescheduled and had to discontinue it again!

So...that's why I don't worry for just one day, but ideally we should not forget either way.

Now though with the new one-a-day capsule, it should be a lot easier to not get confused :-)!

Wonder if I will get the one day capsule- I’m on a trial at Mayo.

I’ve been told that those of us on a trial will continue to get the capsules.

Best,

What happened on the day you inadvertently took it twice?

Good question!

I bet you will get the new one.

I think the accompanying literature said that for those taking the 420mg this is what you get, my pharmacy didn't even warn me..they just sent it.

I was told to just continue with normal dose if I missed dose, not to double up .

Hi!! Once I thought I took a double dose and was lucky I remembered the day I started the new bottle. Still , I had to remove all the capsules from the jar and count. Can’t wait until I get the once daily pill.

Hi SunnyCA,

I'm on ibrutinib also and was told if you miss a dose, it can be taken as soon as possible on the same day with a return to the normal schedule on the following day, but do not take extra the following day to make up for the missed dose.

Health and happiness!
