Hi does anyone know if the Powerfit fitness machine is suitable for people with CLL. (There is very intense vibration in the workout).
Powerfit: Hi does anyone know if the Powerfit... - CLL Support
Powerfit
Hiya, I've used one quite a few times at the end of a workout as I find it helps to reduce the muscle stiffness and pain you get when you first start doing intense exercise.
I don't use it any more but I could only tolerate the lowest setting in bursts of 30 seconds. I'm not aware of any contraindications.
Hi, thank you very much for your response. I was diagnosed last October and thought using this machine might help me with fitness, but remembered how awful I felt after using a lawn mower (shook) and wondered might it have a similar effect? Do you mind me asking what would happen if you used for more than 30 seconds? Thanks again
I use one as part of a workout, doing squats etc on it. I like it and it does reduce muscle soreness.
There is some evidence that exercise moves CLL cells out of lymph nodes back into the blood where they die - don't know why - so I reckon vibration will do this too.
I’ve used a Vibrating plate for many years at home (the proper full size one you stand on with handles). I mainly use it for circulation, exercise of muscles where I can’t manage myself and for cellulite prevention.
Don’t know if it aids with the CLL but I do at least 5/10 mins a day.
