I woke up two weeks ago with a pain in my left hand. I thought that I had been sleeping on the hand. Fast forward a few days later swollen red hand and very painful. I have been diagnosed with cellulitis. I am currently on day 7 of antibiotics and swelling has improved slightly but still very painful. I have been on ibrutinib for 2 months...no other major side-effects. Been taken off ibrutinib for 1 week..wait and see if hand improves. Can't say if ibrutinib is the cause.../compromised immune system?

Skin issues seem to be the way I respond to my poor immune system. I've had 2 bouts of cellulitis and 2 of other skin infections. I am on Ibrutinib but I think this is an immune system problem.

Sounds like tenosynovitis, have had this on and off since being on Ibrutanib. Redness, swelling and painful. Yet joint movement is not, tender to touch, pressure. Comes on suddenly. Not seen an explanation or reason.

Icing part a lot, 20 minutes each, use of a little Ibuprofen seems to help get over the attacks. also drinking tons of water.

As always, check first with provider, unfortunately they may be in the dark about this. One trick is to take pictures of the affected part, compared with normal side,as the problem may go away before you see doc.

Thanks for the information. My hand is now bright red and hot. I can move my fingers freely. Had a quick appointment to-day with hemo/oncologist and he says cellulitis. I have been on antibiotics for 5 days and thruthfully I can't see that the situation is getting any better. I am to continue with antibiotics for another 5 days, give hemo/oncologist a call and get the go ahead to continue back on ibrutinib if hand clears. I am very anxious to continue ibrutinib.....feeling really good...numbers continuing to improve...apart from the hand...all is well!!

I have had slight recurring pain in my right hand prior to starting Ibrutinib June 2017. It has gradually become more frequent and painful radiating into the forearm. My grip is sometimes very painful. I have had random attacks of pain in my knees primarily the left lasting 1-2 days. I am almost 67 and assume that this is a combination of arthritis and Ibrutinib side effects.

Hello 👋 I have been having right arm pain since a few weeks. At first I thought it may be work related then thought from shoveling snow! No idea but glad to be alive.
