I had my first 3 month appointment witness my hematologist/ oncologist. Although blood work declined still on W & W. Next appointment in 4 months this time unless symptoms present themselves. (Fevers, night sweats, headaches)
I presently have swollen lymph nodes in the neck and clavicle. CT showed nodes in abdomen region but he said not troublesome. I mentioned my tender nodes, he said cancer nodes don’t hurt. Whatever! I know I have mini jelly bean size things under my arm that are tender. So I wait!

I have had quite painful nodes under my arms the size of golf balls that were tender, ached and burned. I assume the location of the nodes is a factor (sleeping on them, friction from my arms while walking, bra, etc.) Stay away from deodorant/anti perspirant or any clothing that rubs against them for awhile and see if that helps.
I hope you are going to a CLL specialist. If not, maybe it’s time for a second opinion. Your doctor is full of himself if he doesn’t believe swollen lymph nodes can hurt. While on W&W it would be a good idea to find someone who takes you seriously before you need treatment. Mine were extremely tender before treatment. Best of luck. Sally
