Could this new approach fix the crisis in clinical research publishing?

A new format of journal article 'The Registered Report model' has recently been introduced that hopes to tackle the problem of certain trials going unpublished, for a variety of reasons. Dr Ben Goldacre (Alltrials and Compare) gets a mention for his work in encouraging greater publishing of trial data.

Sounds like a great idea, don't know that study sponsors would be willing to allow this.
