I read all these articles in various publications, and posts on this and other CLL related websites, regarding new and improved treatments for the control and management of CLL, and, indeed they're very encouraging.
But does anyone know just how close the medical profession is to finding a complete cure for CLL?

You beat me to it baq! I was just listening to what Dr. Peter Hillmen has to say about this in the most recent PP video. There's talk of a 'functional cure' and 'deep remission' but rarely does anyone venture into 'complete cure' territory yet. However I'd take either of the two quite happily!
And so would I, Newdawn. I think that we're always going to hear those sorts of careful phrases, especially from litigation averse medical people. They're still quite positive though.
It's about 20 minutes long, but I particularly like the part where he says that we are getting to a point where even younger patients may soon be seeing a normal life expectancy because the frequency of these new drugs coming out.

Sounds promising Seoul. As you're going to be there, would you be so kind as to pass on a couple of requests?
We'd like any complete cure to comprise of one dose (liquid, tablet or injection), be instantaneous and with no side effects. We could stretch to two doses at a pinch, perhaps wait a day or two for the complete cure, and maybe tolerate a mild headache as a very short lived side effect.
