Left side sleeping trouble?

For awhile now I haven't been able to sleep on my left side at all. My stomach gets all upset and makes these uncomfortable noises. I tried looking up possible answers online but I haven't gotten any. Sleeping on my right side is no issue though. Help?

Welcome to the site Byanez as this appears to be your first post. Obviously there is very limited information to go on but in CLL, an enlarged spleen (which is tucked under your ribs on the left side), can cause discomfort. This is only one possible reason for your discomfort so please discuss it with your doctor. This is an old but still very relevant article explaining everything to do with the spleen which you may find helpful.

Tell us a little more about yourself and your staging etc. but please be aware that you haven't restricted your post to the community.

Hope you find some answers to your discomfort.

Does that mean that one of your ribs would be bigger than the other? Because my left rib seems to be bigger than my right and I've always noticed this I just never thought anything of it .

This really is one for your doctor Byanez because we can only give experiential advice on the usual suspects and in CLL, discomfort on the left side is usually spleen implicated. However it could be many other reasons including your bowel. An ultrasound scan would give the answers. I had one when my spleen was showing signs of enlargement but my symptoms were a stitch like pain on that side and I could feel discomfort after a big meal.

Let us know how you go on.

Best wishes,

Somewhere in the past I read an article that said to sleep on your right side if you can because it was better for digestion etc. Now, if I get reflux I turn to the right. It does help. It has something to do with the direction things flow.
