Ibrutinib and hair loss

I am 72 years old and have been on Ibrutinib for 3 months now. My hair is getting a little thin (quite a bit on my brush and in the shoer. I suppose it is a side effect, but have read here that some guys have lost the greys and now have a headful of naturla, dark hair. will my hair grow again?

who cares? Its what is inside that matters and how well you use it. Naked heads have been the new mullet for some years now!

Hey! I have lost the grey hairs in my eye brows as well as my "tail. I have a very long braid that I have had since I was 30 or so. I keep the rest of my hair cut short. It is soft now (was like a brillo pad) and has thinned considerably. The pharmacist says that no one else in my area has reported hair loss but it is hard to believe since I have viewed your post.

My girlfriend with breast cancer lost all hair during treatment. She has embraced the hair loss and has purchased several wigs of various colors and styles. She loves that few people recognize her when she is out. She has such a positive attitude and is enjoying being someone new each day. I have been fortunate not to have lost my hair, but cut it short and donated it before my first treatment. I was ready to shave it had it started falling out. I'm sure that what's in your heart is so much more beautiful than your hair. At 72 you have endured so many of life's journeys, hair loss just adds to the list☺️ Makes for another "oh darn it" story. I wondered if others had experience hair loss. I'm 63 and have been on ibrutinib for 9 months; my hair started thinning about 6 months ago. I've always had great, thick hair that was the source of admiration even when I let it go silver around age 50, and I admit that it's something I miss. I did lose most of it once before about 20 years ago as a side effect of a medication, but it did come back. I'll be on inbrutinib as long as it keeps working, so the hair loss is the least of my worries.

Dear Mayor44, I am a 69 year old lady and have been on Ibrutinib for three and 1/2 years now. I also lost a lot of hair at first. Initially I was alarmed, but it stopped. The color of my hair has not changed. My nails also became brittle, and I must keep them short or they will split. The good news is your lymph nodes will get smaller, and your lab numbers will get better! Hang in there and good luck to you.

thank you for your reply. My lymph nodes are right down and the white blood count has gone significantly down. I feel 100% but was just a bit concerned about the hair loss. thx again.

I've been on ibrutinib for six months now. About 2 mos. ago I noticed some hair loss (never experienced any loss before). It went on for about a month and now has stopped and continually gets curlier! It's funny to watch the change. I'm sure it's the meds.

I realize this is a 4 year old post, however I was wondering how your hair is now. My hair has thinned, broken and stopped growing in some places. The texture is very soft.

How is your hair now?
