Hi anybody have any advice on travel insurance and which companies they have found sympathetic?
Travel Insurance: Hi anybody have any advice on... - CLL Support
Travel Insurance
My previous insurance company refused to insure me when I told them of my diagnosis last year of CLL. I think my history didn't help, as in recent years I've had a brain tumour which was successfully removed plus I also have Joint Hypermobility Syndrome so I'm not the insurance companies most favourite customer! I've found J.D.Travel Insurance Consultants who deal with travel insurance for those with serious medical conditions really helpful. They've provided a really good level of cover at a reasonable cost e.g. for Europe for both my husband and myself for a year for under £300 and considering both of us have medical conditions it has worked out less than my previous cover! Good luck with your search.
Thanks
Just to reiterate my previous point about World First which is one of the recommended companies in the pinned post. They are very good and thorough in insuring pre-existing conditions including CLL and will offer insurance when others refuse. However, beware (and this may not be an issue for much longer), they expect you to use an EHIC card and a public hospital for minor emergencies in the EU. They wouldn't pay for my medical care in a private hospital in an EU country. I didn't find their emergency response very helpful either when I was in crisis. However, this was my experience and generally they do appear to offer a decent service especially to people requiring serious illness cover.

Thanks very helpful
Hi Rich
Welcome to our community, hope you find the answers to your travel insurance.
Lots of information here even for people who are not new to the Cll journey. Hint, don't try to take in all the information straight away or you might give yourself a headache, I did until I found it better to assimilate it bit by bit.
Best wishes
