Friends,
Today on the cllsociety.org, we share Dr. Januario Castro's lecture from the Patient Empowerment and Education Meeting held at UCSD in April 2015 about using targeted therapies to treat high-risk CLL, specifically Richter's transformation, plus a description of a new clinical trial that he, Dr. Kipps and Dr. Choi are running out of UCSD. Please take a look here to see the article and video cllsociety.org/2015/11/targ... of his talk.
The countdown is on! This week I'll be taking my every 10 year family practice board exams (I really should be studying and am doing the absolute minimum CLL related work), next week is Thanksgiving and the follow week is the American Society of Hematology Annual Meeting in Orlando. No rest for the weary! We're finalizing our schedule to attend the most exciting presentations about CLL, viewing the CLL posters and interviewing CLL experts from around the world. These are very exciting times for patients and those researching the most effective treatments for CLL in the goal towards a cure.
REGISTER NOW: If you live in the Los Angeles area, please consider attending a post-ASH patient education forum and CLL Society LA support group launch in conjunction with City of Hope. Dr. Tanya Siddiqi will be presenting on the latest data on Diagnosis and Frontline Treatment and Dr. Steven Rosen will present on Relapsed Disease and Novel Therapies. The meeting is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015. You can access the flier at cllsociety.org/docs/COH%20P... and pre-registration is requested. We look forward to meeting you there.
Stay strong.
We are all this together
