i took a blood test and for Platelets i had 100. should i be worry ?

what should i do ?

100,000 is a safe level. The trend needs to be watched.

What made you have a blood test? You seem far too young for a diagnosis of CLL.

Your medical advisor should be able to identify if there is a problem for all your other blood test results.

cause seen i was 16 my platelets were going low by time and 3 days ago i saw it was 100 and it worried me .

Hi

I have CLL and my reading is 77. It has been falling for over two and a half years and still I am on Watch and Wait.

One doctor has told me I need treatment and other said not. Therefore I am trying to find another consultant who I will probably need to pay for to get an opinion.

You do need to keep an eye on this level.

Hi Dave

I live in Southampton and the consultant that I am seeing is excellent.His name is Dr Forconi .He is Italian and seems to know his stuff .There is also one you can go to at The Chalybeat private hospital which is close to the General Hospital but If you can see Forconi all the better .

One important trigger for starting treatment is when your platelet count drops and stays below 70. You need to have a bit up your sleeve to allow for a drop during treatment without getting down to the level where bleeding can occur very easily.
