I started on Imbruvica in November, 2010----more than three years ago. How am I doing---just great! No swollen nodes, normal CBC, and no side effects. Blood tests indicate that I am MRD negative, with my bone marrow nearly cleared of CLL cells.

If anyone else needs treatment, I would advise them to fight as hard as they could for Imbruvica---even as an initial therapy. Frontline treatment is off-lable, but can be covered by insurance if your physician is aggressive enough.

Some of the original phase 1 trial patients are on drug > 4 years. No new problems are cropping up. On the contrary, most of the complications come early. Whether resistance continues to rise is the bigger concern. I am over two years myself.
