Post kasai. 2 months. Fever 38.2

My son had kasai 2 months back. Was ok all these while, yesterday blood test came out unexpected as conju.bili went down frm 118 to 70.but ggt hiker up to 1450. Terrified.our team console us to look into bilirubin first. Others will come down. Today he got fever. Admitted to nearest gh. Doctors taking lft again. Doctors saying as bilirubin going down less chance for cologitis.we migh be looking in viral fever only. Still awaiting latest blood test. Was it true? Anyone with similar situations before?

Hi there, same here. My baby bili is normal but she spiked fever at 1.5 months after kasai, we are admitted but then her blood culture came back negative so they let us go home. Then again very high fever at 5 months, blood culture still negative this time but they decided to treat her with Cholangitis anyway 😭😭. It is terrifying feeling! Dr also told me if bile drain well then less Cholangitis since bacteria has a harder time coming up...but i guess not in our case. We are praying everyday for a better outcome.

Alt/sat has been between 70s and 100s.

After kasai, ggt got to 800s but has been come down to around 300s recently. We are 3 months post kasai.

Hey , same problem here. My baby got fever after 2 weeks of kasai and gave him antibiotics for 3 weeks . He was doing well next one month.

Again he has fever last 2 weeks , blood cultures and urine culture are negative. Doctor gave him iv antibiotics 2 weeks. He was ok during 2 weeks .

He has fever again next day after we went home . Do you have any suggestions why it’s happening again and again.

During blood tests, along with LFT,we have to do C reactive protein test,if it's value is more ,indicates liver is infected,means cholangitis....
