Amazing: Hello your story is amazing... - Children's Liver ...
Amazing
Hi
My baby is 7 months and she is diagnosed with biliary atresia
We have not done kasai treatment or any other
I am giving only medicine for liver which doctor has provided
I am so scared do not know why it happened to us
How is your baby doing
please share your experience
I have never heard of a baby diagnosed with biliary are not having a kasai procedure done. This is strange. Can you share the reason why it was not complete? Does the baby have jaundice? Is the bilirubin levels high? Liver functions high? What have the doctors done other than give medicine? Also do you know the medicine name?
I dont want my baby to undergo any treatment as kasai doesnot have 100% success rate neither liver transplant
So i am just hoping and praying to god that my baby will be fine soon
She is pale and her eyes are yellow
Please forgive me .. I have come to the right of your child .. Kasai is the first solution and transplant is the final solution to this disease. No medicines cure biliary atresia ..... My son did Kasai a year ago and removed from jaundice and there are successful operations lasting a long life .. We do not have the future and we have to take the reasons .. Do not injustice your child
I know no medicine will cure it. It is duct which shud be there and is not present in my baby
How unfortunate!
Prayers never go unanswered 🙏🏻
If you do not undergo the kasai procedure transplant may become they only option once the liver is too damaged. Yellow eyes and itchy skin are both signs of liver failure. Usually babies have the procedure done as soon as they are diagnosed. Have the doctors agreed not having the kasai is a good option? There is no 100% cure. My son is not 100% cured. But his liver is functioning. He has no itchiness, no yellow. Skin or eyes, the only way to know what's going on with him is through bloodwork. I strongly advise you reconsider a surgical treatment plan. May I ask where you live. There are doctors who have higher success rates than others. If you go to a hospital with a pediatric transplant center they will more likely have doctors who are more experiened with biliary atresia.
