My daughter was born with biliary atresia. She had a kasai surgery after 10 days of birth. She became fine and she's about 13 months now and she's having constant fever. I don't know what to do. She has been on IV for the past 10 days but still having this high fever.

Hope she recovers soon
Hi, does the hospital where you have your baby know what a kasai procedure is and do they know how to treat her? She could be fighting an infection, my daughter had something similar few days after a Kasai and she was battling a rhino enterovirus, which she was put in antibiotics right away to fight it. Not all hospitals are equipped or are well informed of what biliary atresia is. I always found myself educating the doctors and nurses, but in my case, I will only go to the local hospital to have them stabilize my daughter and then have them transport her to the children's hospital where her liver specialist is. Please ask for answers and blood test to figure out where these fevers are coming from. Fevers always represent a form of your immune system fighting something.
