For lipid blood test for people on statin fasting or non fasting?

I had both blood tests done because I am on 10 mg statin.

NHS have both reference lipid reference levels.

1. Non fasting lipid blood test. Total cholesterol OK, Triglyceride high.

2. A fasting lipid blood est, total cholesterol OK but Triglyceride Normal.

My question is what should a GP request for cholesterol blood test?

Again for type 2 people, controlled by diet and exercise, a fasting blood glucose, what is the reference number ?

Please comment, thank you.
