Hi Eileen_wai, I’m really sorry to hear you are having such a miserable time. I’m sure you have probably spoken to your doctor about it by now - has your doctor referred you to a consultant of some sort or a dietitian or nutritionist who might be able to help? Have you tried keeping a food and drink (and possibly stress) diary to work out what seems to make your condition worse? That might help you pin point what the cause is.

I’ve had IBS for about forty years - mine was triggered by stress. I’ve still not worked out what upsets my gut and I’ve given up bothering. For me I tend to lurch from constipation to diarrhoea but of the two I find the constipation the worse to deal with. My son’s friend who got so bad he was hospitalised came to stay with us and brought an enormous selection of medicinal teas although unfortunately I haven’t a clue what they were. He cut coffee (and caffeine) out completely but fourteen years later he now drinks coffee again. So who knows how 8BS works although saying that I went totally gluten free about ten years ago and it’s made a big difference to my gut so it might be worth trying that. Good luck with it all.

Thnks, I have tried everything, some days I can manage and days that I have to attend an appointment or see someone I get stressed and that starts again. Worst is when I get waterfall diarreah and tummy pains. Yes i write down the food which upsets me. Havnt been to a nutrition ist but i read a lot abt it. Stress is my worst thing too.

Sounds like you maybe need to find a way to deal with your stress. What about meditation or learning some sort of relaxation techniques to help you when you feel stressed? Could your doctor maybe help you with that?
