Postural hypotension

I have just been discharged from hospital after a heart spasm. I have been put on diltiazem. I have postural hypotension and am concerned that this medication may lower my blood pressure even further. My bp is 92/54. Is this drug safe for me to take.

Surely this is a question to ask the person who prescribed it to you in the hospital.

I am not on certain medication for my heart because they can lower my heart rate. It is 45 normally sometime as low as 40. Consultants worried some drugs they wanted to give me would lower it more and make it stall.

whY did they say when they have it to you, what was your response.

I didn't know until I got home that they could reduce my BP even further. I am going to my doctors tomorrow to talk to him about it.

Good. I think its now wise we ask when we are on a bundle of meds already and they introduce another, are the OK together and have they checked the interaction.

It might just help to make us feel secure and comfortable.

Please check with your GP or call 111 to ask the question.
