Hi MARGROCK, my chol., was 9.3 last December. I didn't want to start on yet more meds so I cut out ALL cakes, breads, sweets etc for 3months (over xmas and new year too) then started to reintroduce them but only 1 per day as a treat. My chol., was tested last month and it's down to 7.2 so I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and hopefully it will stabilise x

Not being rude but are you really eating healthily or are you forgetting about some things. For instance Almonds are healthy but only about 10. Alcohol is good for you but only a SMALL glass of red wine and on and on....If you are comfortable that you really do eat healthily then good on you. Its all a struggle but when you really want to and have the right motivation you can bring it down. Moderation and variation are the way to good health eating. And why have you not started running again. Doctors orders?????

I don't drink and I've had low cholesterol my whole life and eaten my chocolate. That's my struggle. Things I've done and gotten away with because of my running. But only 12 lbs up and 6.77 seems extreme. But you're right I have to. E self motivated. Small problem. I started binging on the chocolate covered almonds after my stroke. Self medicating! This one has been a hard one. I stroked while running. I need to have a support group to help me through this. And this is why I think I was motivated to post. I'm normally private

I can see now that starting running is very worrying for you. Maybe try walking and getting faster. I did this after my heart attack. Walking so fast i started running. Now i do both. Not bombing off at fast pace just running to feel tge wind in my receeding hair and to feel free. As for support i asked for help from my doctor in the end as i was finding life difficult. Saw a councillor for a while who just let me talk and get it all out of me. Best thing i ever did.
