Feeling scared

Hi my name is Sue and I have just had a call from my doctors office to say that I have a cholesterol level of 8.7 and I have had to make an appointment. I have put on over 2 stone in 7 months and I have had enough stress to sink a ship. I know the weight is a factor but is the stress, which is ongoing.

So sorry something in your life is causing you stress. Do try to spend ten minutes deap breathing, letting your breath out fully and slowly. To lose weight plus to bring your cholesterol down look at th whole food plant based diet and the YouTube of Dr Esselstyn. Your doctor will want you to start taking statins which do work but cause some people joint pain.

Thanks for that. I think my stress is the major issue. I could never imagine that in my life I would deal with every major stress cause all in the same period. I am finding it extremely hard to deal with and I know I have to do something about that. I have already enrolled on the slimming world eating plan and am in my second week. I lost 5.5lb in week one so it is something positive moving forward. I am just dreading going to the doctors but it needs to be sorted. I will look at Dr Esselstyn as you have suggested. Thank you.

Thank you for a most comprehensive reply. Its very interesting but gives me a good insight into what I may be dealing with. I have only seen my doc once and he says that I am suffering from stress. I have psoriasis and very reflux and have felt quite exhausted. So I have changed my diet and am taking a tablet for the acid. So far so good. I have been unable to exercise due to a really bad knee injury. The inflammation has been terrible for months but its got much better the last few weeks. I am going to be doing some walking as advised by my GP to try to alleviate the stress. It is the first time I have been to the GP since I moved to Ireland from England back in January and I have to say he was very sympathetic and land I found him to be thorough. I will of course have to see what he says on Friday. Thank you for your help. Much obliged.
