I have Low levels on my cholesterol till this last 8 months.

Now it is 8.1 + 5.? ( although I will have to check again to clarify the bottom reading.

I'm currently having my bloods tested for rumathoid arthritis.

Just starred on Amtriptlyn 10 mg two weeks ago.

Total cholesterol is not as important as its' component composition. Traditional lipid values that are of relevance are the LDL-C, HDL-C, non-HDL-C, and triglycerides. Also of relevance - fasting blood glucose.

More relevant tests that provide insight are the Apo B, and ApoA-1. Try and get these tests, although you might have to pay for them.

hs-CRP measures low-grade inflammation in the body, in general, and is often an early warning sign for cardiovascular disease. MPO does the same except it is focused specifically on the arteries. The more pieces of the puzzle you collect, the easier it will be for you to understand your condition and see the big picture.

If your cholesterol has spiked up it could be an anomalous, one time reading, so confirmation is necessary. If it is confirmed you need correlate this increase with any changes you've experienced over this time frame such as - have you gained weight? Are you eating more sugar and refined carbohydrates like white bread, white rice, etc...

Are you under more stress? Did you have an injury?

Get in the habit of requesting a copy of your blood test results so you can track your health better.
