I'm working on a project that involves designing an online course for schools, to educate teaching staff about young people with visible differences.
As a mother with a child that has a visible difference(and who has experienced bullying because of vitiligo), I just wanted to reach out to others to hear what your experiences were like at school?
If you also experienced bullying, what did your school do (if anything to resolve the issue)?
As someone living with a visible difference, what would you like your teachers to know about your difference?
Do you feel teachers and school staff know enough about visible differences?
Are there any specific steps or measures teachers or schools can take to make things easier for a child with visible differences?
I know my daughter feels uncomfortable with people staring at her. How does everyone else cope with this?
I really would appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks 🙂

Hi faithful123 Welcome to the Changing Faces online community.
I am sorry about your experience of bullying and that your daughter is finding it hard to cope with staring but it's really great to hear about the work you are doing to educate professionals about visible difference. I can see you have asked our community some really great questions and hope others can share to really help shape the resources you are working on.
