I am so sorry to hear about your partners Rosacea - it sounds very painful. Hopefully one of the people with experience of rosacea will reply soon. All I can say is that someone mentioned invermectin and mirvaso - sorry no idea what they are!! Just sharing info from another persons post.
Not sure any of this helps but please know that I am thinking about you any your partner. I hope this situation improves soon.
Hi, I've had it for about two years now so I sympathise.... its awful. He might have tried all of these but this helps me. No caffeine.
No spicy foods.
Minimum alcohol.
Switched to lactose free dairy products because I know it's an irritant for me.
I followed the Fodmap eating plan for a while because I also have ibs and it really helped.
Antihistamine daily.
Try not to overheat, stay out the sun or wind.
Suncream every day... even when it's cloudy.
Aveeno or cetaphil to wash and moisture face and neck.
I've been prescribed mirvaso and invermectin through the dermatologist which really help.
Cicapair balm from Boots is a colour correction cream that helps to cover the redness.
I carry a facecloth in a sandwich bag everywhere so I can use a cold cloth on my face if it flares when I'm out.
Stress is a big trigger for me so I'm trying to do things to keep that at a minimum. Easier said than done! I'm not the kind to do weird and wonderful for normal but I'm meditating, doing mindfulness projects, journaling etc.
It's all worth a try but I think everyone is different.
Wishing him all the best and fingers hoped you get to see a professional soon xxx
Hi there Downwards 👋,
So sorry to read about your partner's struggle with Rosacea, and really hoping that the dermatologist can shine some light on how to improve things for him.
One of the issues with Rosacea, is that it's a wide condition affecting so many different skin types. So, it's about finding out personal triggers and also using facial products and a routine that work for the individual. From my own experience that approach has worked very well in terms of self-help, but it's taken a bit of time and experimentation to get things right. I've also had countless antibiotics that didn't help. Ivermectin (Soolantra) works well on pustules too. And, I've also taken oral medication called Isotretoinin, which only a dermatologist can prescribe. My skin type is combination with a very oily T Zone, and that medication dries up oil production, so has been most effective in that respect. My Rosacea story is summarised in my bio if you're interested.
I can't add any more to the great advice you've already been given. But, here's a couple links with useful reading:

Good luck, keep chatting.

Hi downwards , Welcome to the Changing Faces community! Thank you for sharing this about your partner and sorry to hear what a difficult journey it's been for them. It would be great to try to connect here with others who might be going through similar situations. There are other people here, who have Rosacea, and I can see that they have already started connecting with your post and offering some support. I hope you find this a helpful and safe place to hear from others and share your thoughts and feelings.
I'm also including a link to the Rosacea page on the Changing Faces website, just in case you want to read it as it includes some more real stories that people have shared with us changingfaces.org.uk/advice...
Take care,
