Hi All. Just diagnosed with Vitiligo and its patch all over my body. I am a sea swimmer so not ideal..will cover up but does anyone have experience of good waterproof natural blended camouflage products that ideally dont rub off on clothes either..for pale olive skin..that can be purchased or sent to Ireland. Thanks in advance.

Hi Kalicork and Welcome to the Changing Faces community! Thank you for your post and for sharing about your vitiligo diagnosis. I'm sure other people here can relate with the challenges you have expressed and might be able to share their thoughts on what helped them in their journey.

Would you be willing to share a bit more about your experience? But only if you feel that this will be helpful for you at this stage, otherwise there are members here with all different forms of visible difference posting about their experiences, that you might find helpful to read through. I hope you find this a helpful and safe place to hear from others and share your thoughts and feelings.

Take care,

Eva - ChangingFaces

Hi Eva.

There isnt any autoimmune history in my family and this started towards the end of a 3 week hol in Asia where I had been using Elocon so dont really know what triggered it as have been on lots of adventure trips like this before.

Initially it was diagnosed as Tinea Versicolor but now Vitiligo. I have no other issues just the visible hypopigmentation/patch look all over so far.

I have just started a 3 month plan of Elocon on non sensitive parts and Protopic on sensitive parts twice daily except on wkds just protopic for month one. Thereafter Protopic x twice daily and Elocon 1 x daily for remaining 2 months plus 3 months of narrow UV Phototherapy x 3 times a week.

I am only in wk 3 of topical and started light therapy this wk per my dermatologist who will review towards end of treatment.

Wondering has anyone followed something similar and seen results? I have it on my face, neck/back, underarms, groin, back of knees, elbows and small spots on feet/hands...it seems to be still active.

I read Gingko Biloba can be helpful? Is there anything I should/shouldnt take from peoples experiences?

As its rare and even rarer here not many supports for Vitiligo so any additional advice welcome...ref good camouflage etc..

Also Opzelura isnt available here so wondering what peoples experiences are? Thanks for reading this.
