Wild Rabbit

A sketch drawn and coloured in yesterday -- so I made it in time for Off Topic Friday. Jacqui tells me it looks mischievous, which would be a lovely thing to have aimed for. If it does, however, that was quite by accident. I hope you enjoy it.

So many people tell me that my paintings of rabbits remind them of Richard Adams' "Watership Down". I think that is going to be the gut response to any rabbit painting for my generation. Yesterday, in response, I produced this, painted from a photo I found on Pinterest. I call it "Wild fox barking".

I recall an episode of "Not the Nine O' Clock News" in which a zookeeper is being interviewed about his gorilla.

Interviewer: Was he wild when you caught hm?

Gorilla: Wild? I was livid.

I showed this to my wife who saw a snake about to strike. Is it, then, an optical illusion, like the one in which one can see a duck or a rabbit? If so, I shall have to try it again.
