Mum's funeral

Yesterday we said farewell to mum

Despite the circumstances of arranging it, it went really well, there was 8 of us there for her, 3 children 2 nephews, 2 nieces in law and a family friend.

My dad who we lost in 2004 played a part as the Reflective Music was Somewhere Over The Rainbow sung by Judy Garland who dad liked

The 8 of us were able to chat both before and after the service, keeping our distance of course, but brother, sister and myself were pleased with how it went

Stay safe and well x

It’s good that all went well Jennymary. At least 8 people were there for your dear mum.

Stay safe and take care xxx😘

Our condolences to you and your family. My mums funeral is on Wednesday, to say I am dreading it is an understatement, so reading your comments has brought me great comfort, thank you.

We are allowed 10 mourners, so we have had to pick the 10 privileged family members, the heartbreak has been explaining to the others that they are not allowed, mum came from a large family and is the last remaining sibling. These strange times will remain with us in such a sacrificial way, so much different to others, I have told my children to write down and hand down to their grandchildren what we were asked to do, and the massive sacrifices our family members made, in times to come let’s hope our ancestors realise what we did, we send our very best wishes and prayers to you.

Take care

Emm.

I'll be thinking of you on Wednesday, although mum's family is small there's 5 great nephews and nieces who we couldn't even ask because if they'd all accepted the invitation we would have had more than 10,so for us it was literally immediate family and one friend who my sister has known for over 25 yrs, look after yourself, sending you and your family love and hugs xxx

I'm really sorry to hear this. How do you feel now? My friend's mom died a couple of days ago, and I'm helping him plan her funeral. This is the first time I've faced death, and I can't even imagine how hard it is for my friend. I took all the responsibility for the funeral and have already found a couple of options for slant headstones on Bras & Mattos Monument Co mattosmonuments.com/slant-h.... This site is one of the best and I am really very grateful for the attitude of the consultants and in general the entire staff of this store.
