Hi JAS, your dads needs have to be met so make sure they are if you can. Everything is up in the air at the moment and changes are made frequently. Stay well and I’m thinking of you and your family. Xxxx

Hi JAS,

I think that we were all shocked and alarmed to hear of the abandonment of people in a Care Home in Spain. But please don't let it spook you too much.

Sassy59 has hit the nail on the head when she says that everything is in freefall at the moment. We have to adjust our thinking almost moment to moment.

Although Care has been lamentably neglected in this country, I cannot, for a moment, imagine the residents of Care Homes in UK being abandoned. The measures in place to prevent such a thing are too robust, despite any feelings you may have that Care is an area that's neglected, practically and in law.

Please try not to worry too much about the bigger picture. I think that, for now at least, it's better to just deal with a day at a time and stick to the well-being of the person who is most important to you, and that's your dad. I think there is going to be trial and error in all parts of life, but your dad has one constant in his life, and that's YOU.

You are, and have done marvellously with his care, and I wish you well in being able to provide as much for him as you can.

Please take very good care of yourself and your mum and dad. But remember to stay safe yourself too, as you are doing such an important job.
