And I would walk 500 miles.......

Well, not really; I struggle with 500 metres on some days, but for those of you who live in UK, I just wanted to flag up the Alzheimer's Memory Walks which are taking place throughout September 2021. There are organised sponsored walks in several locations, or you can sign up to do a walk on your own on any date you wish.

Any support you can offer to this organisation, would, I'm sure, be really welcome. Many of us have seen first hand what Alzheimer's and related dementia diseases have done to our loved ones, so if you'd like to help in some way you can find more details here at:

Friday night I emailed the Great Bristol Run and Alzeimers to inform them that I can't do the 10k in 2 weeks time

I feel for you Jennymary, I know how enthusiastic you were about this and how determined to do it too. Hopefully you'll make a full recovery and may be able to do this, or something very like it, in the future. Here's hoping! 😊🌈🙏

It's not fair is it when you are really really looking forward to doing something and then something happens and it's not possible.

It's nice isn't it to see things like sponsored walks coming back?

Yesterday we enjoyed a great day out in Swansea somewhere we hadn't visited since just before everything shut down back in March 2020 and met with our friends and went to the Swansea museum and also to the waterfront museum which were very quiet but we enjoyed them though and we brought our own packed lunches and sat on Swansea beach for a picnic which we all enjoyed better than going to a place we used to go to a buffet place called Nines!

Our friends have a male ginger tabby called Marmaduke who is a cat food only cat and knows his place in the family unlike Baby who rules our roost!

We all feel strongly how covid is a lesson in never taking anything for granted again.

We have put a day out at neath abbey in our diaries in pencil for October.

In Cardiff they do those Alzheimer's walks in the gorgeous bute park in the city centre.

today the first stage of the tourof britain cycle race ends here in Bodmin. there are all sorts of events and as the end is near to the HERITAGE railway station some people will arrive in style on a steam train.

some nasty idiot has proclaimed Bodmin the worst town in England. why are people like this? its a lovely place with parks and views and shops..they need to get out more..they can see for themselves that they are wrong..

iam beginning to get out now but not up to a busy event like that isnt my typing improving?

glad to hear that our injured members are also getting better.keep it up

in reply to FredaE

I went to Bodmin years ago and it's OK and just a regular country market town.

Take no notice of those nasty idiots at they have nothing better to do with their time than cause trouble!

I'm glad to hear you are getting out and about as well.

I enjoyed a day out in Swansea yesterday with my friends.

Yes I was sorry for Jenny Mary as she was really looking forward to that sponsored walk and then that happened which is unfair.

Hi Freda

Well I adored Bodmin when I stayed in Cornwall. I don’t know what the criteria are for these lists but they are often way off beam. Bodmin’s pretty, historic and there’s heaps to do. I got quite obsessed with the Charlotte Dymond murder after visiting the trial scene at the former Bodmin Assizes. It kept me busy for weeks! And I’ve been on the steam train of course. Everyone we met was so friendly too. So that’s sheer nonsense FredaE.

So glad to see how much you are improving now too. Great news and I hope that continues. 👍😊🙏

Hi Catgirl1976, Yes I noticed there was to be a walk in Cardiff. Even if it's possible to cheer on the walkers at an event, it helps to make it all worthwhile!
