Good morning everyone and welcome to Feel Good Friday

How has your week been? Perhaps something good happened, or maybe you have had a difficult week. Either way we would like you to share it with us.

What you are planning for the weekend? I am hoping to find some time to relax and watch some tennis from Wimbledon. When the tournament starts it feels like we have reached the real summer. And so far this year the weather seems to be agree!! Fingers crossed it continues.

Perhaps you could share with us whatever you are planning to do.

Have a good weekend

After my cancer treatment 5 yrs ago I had a bone scan, the letter I received said 'intermittent risk of fractures no need to do anything just another scan in 3-5 yrs, after 3 yrs hospitals didn't want to know, so as the 5 yrs is now up I got myself referred, via GP, earlier this year. During the consultation she dropped into the conversation that one of my T scores was -2.4 with -2.5 being osteoporosis, so for 5 yrs I've been going about my life oblivious to how close I was to osteoporosis, I've now had this year's scan and yes I now have osteoporosis in my spine at time of writing this i only have a copy of GP letter, I've been put on medication but no support/advice from neither GP nor hospital, I don't even know if/when I need another scan so I've had a really tough week. The upside is that I'm on annual leave this weekend so should be seeing my sister and possibly mum

Hello Jennymary,

We're very sorry to hear this. It's always difficult when you receive such news in a letter and not face to face. I'm sure you are planning on making an appointment with your GP for further advice and the treatment plan going forward re scans etc.

In the meantime have a look at this site theros.org.uk/. which you might find helpful. They also have a helpline run by nurses with specialist knowledge.

It is good that you may be seeing your mum and sister this weekend.

Take care and we are thinking of you.

Hi Jennymary, so sorry to hear about your bad news. I echo MAS_Nurse's advice, and am thinking of you and wish you well.

Hi MAS_Nurse, I've had a lovely week this week, with several trips out into the countryside. One, (yesterday), was by train, and I thought as I gazed out of the windows, what a show-off nature is at this time of year. It was a glorious day and everything was picked out in high definition. Each leaf in in its shade of green was picked out against a perfectly blue sky with small flurries of fluffy clouds decorating it. The foliage was so luxuriant. Flowers were competing with each other, all saying "Look at me. Aren't I the most beautiful thing you ever saw?" And of course the whole scene was the most beautiful thing ever. And the older I get, the more pleasure I get from such a simple yet wonderful thing.

Hope everyone had something that cheered them up during the past week, and wishing you all some pleasures in the days to come. Best wishes everyone.
