I hope you got my rather weak joke today!

Well yes it’s Good Friday, not good for everyone, but let’s make it as Good as we can.

Well the weather is good. Hopefully you will avoid the traffic jams. I am not sure I will, but it doesn’t matter we can tell jokes! Can you think of a joke today perhaps the worst ones are the best!

My Grandchildren are the best for that. What did the biscuit say when it crossed the road? Oh dear that’s poor. Crumb indeed.

Sorry, it's a bit corny! OK, a lot corny!

I spent the early hours reflecting on how changed Good Fridays are now, compared to my early childhood in the 1950s. Oh how we kids dreaded it. There was no TV at home and the radio played endless solemn music. All shops were shut, except the fishmonger as most people observed the tradition of eating fish, not meat, so I remember that annual outing with my mum, in her glummest coat (she probably only had one) and the obligatory headscarf. Otherwise we were kept indoors as a matter of respect. It was not a day for our usual rowdy games outside in the street. What a sigh of relief when I woke on Saturday morning, with only one day to go until EASTER EGGS!!

Whatever you are all doing this weekend, and no matter how your Easter weekend will be, I send Easter blessings to you all and hope that at least for most of us there will be some peace in our hearts.
