Good Morning Everyone! :-)

How are you all doing, and how has your week gone? Do share with us anything you have found challenging or that has been an encouragement to you.

I don't know about you, but I'm finding this changeable weather challenging, I wish it would make its mind up what it wants to do. One minute the heating is off, lighter weight clothes, getting out in the garden, and the next I'm wrapped up multiple woollen layers, gloves (indoors too) and turning the heating up.

Still, hopefully, the days are going to be getting longer, and there is the promise of warmer, sunnier days ahead as Spring develops. I can't believe that we are now in April and here in the UK the Easter school holidays begin tomorrow...where is the time going?

So, as we approach the weekend may the word of this Irish blessing speed you on your way:

"May the road rise up to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face;

the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,

may God hold you in the palm of His hand".

Love & Blessings,

Hi MAS_Nurse,

I do share your frustration with the oh-so-changeable British weather, but I do think it helps to give us the stiff backbone and readiness to cope with what's thrown at us, which is a part of the British character. And we've certainly had some different versions of weather thrown at us in the past week. i can scarcely believe how springlike last Friday was by comparison with this one. The burgeoning leaves on the trees outside appear to have almost retracted back into the branches, muttering "brrrrr" a they go.

On the reverse I've wallowed in going off to bed early with a good book and indulging in my guilty pleasure of switching on my nifty little heat pad which feels gloriously warm around my shoulders.

One of my good friends was involved in a road traffic accident this week, caused by speed and carelessness. She was wheeling her cycle across a side street when a driver sped around the corner, travelling too fast and not expecting anyone to be in his way. He clipped the back wheel of her cycle, sending the bike in one direction and her in the other. She's sustained a fractured wrist and pubic bone and is in great pain and is very debilitated by this moment of carelessness. She's in her 70s and loves dancing and will now be out of action for many weeks, possibly never to regain full agility at her age.

So I guess my demeanour this week is 'hopping mad' on her behalf, because of course it was totally avoidable and I completely endorse what the police did when they stopped talking about 'road traffic accidents' and changed the term to 'road traffic collisions'.

So please, everyone, be very careful when out and about and stay safe.

Very best wishes to you all, and thank you MAS_Nurse for reminding me of one of my favourite Irish blessings.

Last Friday we enjoyed going round the park and singing oh what a beautiful morning.......

Mind you, when the heat wave comes we'll be having a right good moan about that.

So true Lynd! The weather here is never quite right, is it?

Good morning Lynd and Callendersgal, we as British love a good moan about the weather. It also strikes up a conversation with people we don't know and can make someone's day as we may be the only person they speak to on that day, which is sad.

So I go about walking my little dog and will continue to speak and smile at anyone I meet.

Have a great day everyone:)

I must admit MAS_Nurse, it was like taking up with an old friend when I came back to the UK from the tropics to live in this climate. Abroad it was simply always very hot with a variation of wet or dry! So we never discussed it. And you're so right that it gives many a lonely person a reason to strike up a conversation, and we're often not aware that actually we've made that person's day!

That blessing is a wonderful sentiment, Thank you. Here's hoping all the carers out there had some comfort and/or happiness this weekend.
