Hi
Hi Cardmaking_1960,
In addition to my colleagues' excellent advise yesterday, you may also like to take a look at these other UK based websites about diverticulitis and diet. You may also wish to ask your GP for a referral to see a State Registered Dietician who can advise and monitor your dietary and lifestyle changes:
Bowel and Bladder Community: bladderandbowel.org/bowel/b...
Net doctor UK - diverticulitis: netdoctor.co.uk/conditions/...
Guts Charity UK: gutscharity.org.uk/advice-a...
There's a wealth of dietary and self-management advice in these and the other information you have been given. Keeping a symptom diary noting the times you eat, what you eat, what symptoms you experience, what medications you take and any other extenuating circumstances e.g doctor's appointments, eating out, stress etc., can help create a snapshot picture of what's happening. This can provide primary evidence, (rather than relying on anecdotal memories), to show to your GP or dietician which will help inform them of treatment options and adjustments.
Hope this helps. Keep in touch and let us know how you are getting on.
Best wishes,
MAS Nurse and Moderator.
