Hoping they change their mind.

Had a sad phone call from my eldest son, his wife is terminal with a rare genetic disease and has finally said no more. My daughter-in-law has been in constant pain for years, losing the use of muscles one by one and has been on a machine to breath for her for over 2yrs.

She goes into the hospice Monday. Sorry word's fail me at the moment as my heart is breaking for her and my son.

Your post really moved me. I am so sorry for you and your family. My experience of hospices is that they will do all they can to make your daughter in law as comfortable as possible and support your son at this tragic time. Life can be cruel at times. My thoughts are with you all.

My dear Boudica1,

How utterly devastating for all of you. I can't begin to comprehend how you must all be feeling. All I can say is that you will all be very much in my thoughts at this terrible time.

Dear Boudica1, we are so sorry to read your very sad news this morning and there are no words that can express how devastating you and the family must feel at this time. What a brave girl she must be to have suffered like this and obviously her wishes are now paramount however devastating for everyone. Hellebelle is quite correct when she says that the Hospice will do every thing to ease her pain and support both your daughter in law and son at this traumatic time. I am sure you will also support them, however you will need support too.

With this in mind, (I hope you don't mind), I have included below a website that can provide support and counselling.

cruse.org.uk Tel: 0808 808 1677 Helpline and local support groups. (9.30 - 5pm) extended hrs till 8pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

All our thoughts are with you, and we are here for you at this tragic time.

Best wishes,

MAS Nurse.
