Carers Trust is one of the beneficiaries of the National Garden Scheme which involves garden owners opening up their beautiful gardens for charities and other good causes. The money raised from the gardens helps to support their work with unpaid carers.
One of the key National Garden Scheme events of the year is Garden and Health Week which takes place between 18 and 24 August. The National Garden Scheme commissioned the King’s Fund to carry out research into the benefits of gardening on health and it found that 63% said gardening had a positive impact on both their physical and mental health.
Carers Trust would like to know more about how gardening is directly benefitting the health of unpaid carers.
If you’re a gardener, please take a few minutes to complete the following questionnaire. The results will be used to promote the week, which will ultimately help to support carers.
The survey is anonymous, but we are also looking for people who are happy to tell their stories about their caring role and gardening, to the media. If can help please let us know, either on the post or by direct message.
Thank you!
