If you seriously want to put on some weight, most of us want to lose it, their is a high calorie drink which come in little cartons.

I think it is called Ensure. It isn't cheap but I believe it contains around 350 calories. Has all essential vitamins too. Your pharmacy will know. Find out from them then google it and buy cheaper online!

I was put on it many years ago after a serious accident when I lost 5 stone. I was encouraged while in hospital to eat absolutely anything and everything! Higher the calories the happier the Nursing staff were.

Downs id is it tastes horrible! No Doctor would touch it but happy to give to me.

Sure other members will have tastier ideas!

Thank you, that is helpful, as an extra on top of meals.

healthy carbs are good -brown rice, sweet potatoes (roasted or mashed), nuts, plus lots of fish and vegetables of course. Soya milk or nut milks (flavoured if you prefer) are good as mid meal "snacks" if you want to avoid dairy. Walking will stimulate the appetite. Hope you are feeling strong and well very soon.

Hi Bundlestone and welcome to this caring forum. You have received some helpful replies from other members. I have also done a little research and found that nhs.uk/livewell/Goodfood/pa... has some very good advice about how to put on some weight and still eat healthily. Also it may be a good idea to ask your GP to refer you to a dietitian in view of you gall bladder problems as this could also be of help. Please let us know how you are getting on, and by the way, I like your photo. Thank you and best wishes.
