Hi, I am 67 and concerned I may have signs of Alzheimer's. I have an appointment this afternoon with my doctor about my memory. I am also sensitive to high pitched noise, even though I have deafness? Does anyone know if this is a symptom of Alzheimer's? Any advice would be welcome. Thank you.

There are many symptoms of Alzheimer's and everyone is different so you need help from your doctor. Let us know how you get on She1950. Xxx

Hi Sassy59,

I have an appointment with my gp this afternoon. At 3:30, hopefully she will put my mind at rest. Thank you xx

Hello She1950, Welcome to this community. I think as sassy59 has said, Alzheimer's symptoms vary and that it is important to see your doctor and discuss this with them. You may have already looked these but here is a link the UK Alzheimer's Society where you will find more specific information.

Let us know how you get on at the docs. Best Wishes

Thank you MAS_Nurse,

I'm seeing my gp this afternoon hopefully to get the ball rolling with Memory Clinic. Thanks for the link.😊

Don't worry too much. If you have any form of dementia (and you probably haven't) there are many treatments available now if it is caught early. Don't forget, most people start to have some memory problems as they get older - known as 'senior moments'!

She 1950 -- I've never heard that being sensitive to high pitched noise is a sign of Alzheimer's. I have always been sensitive to high pitched noise, but, at 86, I don't have the disease, although my mother did. Your doctor can tell you more about your concerns.

hope all went well at doctors for you and found support you needed

Thank you all, for your comments and advice. I feel a bit better after seeing my GP. She was very good. I have to have some blood tests done tomorrow and go back to see her next week with my husband, for further discussions.
