Hi I have type 2 diabetic but have never been sent to a charopadist . Should I be? I seem to think I have to go myself and pay. Is this right?

Hi Yvonne, You should be eligible for an NHS podiatrist if you have a long term condition such as diabetes. Please ask your GP for a referral. You may also find the following websites helpful-- nhs.uk/livewell/foothealth and diabetes.org.uk. Everyone in the UK with diabetes who is 12 years of age or over should be invited to have their eyes screened once a year. More information about this can be found on nhs.uk/condition/diabetic-e.... Annish1 mentioned diabetic eye screening, so I included some information about this also. Best wishes.
I am so shocked your doctor has not sorted this for you...and I personally would have thought this service should be free due to your diabetes
