Asthma inhalers and tinnitus

I just thought I'd like to mention, just in case ant T researchers or professionals read this that I am becoming convinced that using my blue asthma inhaler takes the edge of my T and gives me a little relief.

I have had a history of chest infections for the last 2/3 years Drs thinking it was asthma and gave me inhalers which I have needed from time to time.

I am becoming convinced that when I use my blue inhaler especially my T seems to settle down a bit and just seems to have the edge taken off it making it more bearable.

I don't use them regularly only when I feel I need to so I do spend periods without using them which is how I notice the difference.

I am going to chat to my Dr about this when I see him.

My son is in the medical profession and says he can't see any reason at all why this should be the case, but I know how it feels to me.

Anyone else out there on inhalers? Have you had any similar experiences?

Hi Curlew...just a thought. Asthma Inhalers contain Mometasone Furoate I believe. I was given this in nasal spray form for eustacian tube dysfunction and sinus. Thing is I stopped smoking a year ago and only cough up gunk when I use this. Residue spray may be working its way into your sinus cavities and eustacian tubes...and perhaps easing any congestion or inflammation in there...all helps ear pressure I think.....just the same as you but in reverse I suppose.

Take care,

Shell

Yes, I agree I don't have T very bad only when it spikes now and then and it upsets me but I work along with that until it leaves in about an hour or so but, inregard to your post yes I do agree with you that my blue inhaler Levolin for my asthma does help my T sound lower, I think this should be researched further it does dilate the blood vessels so it could help the blood flow in the ears

Yes, I think this should be an area looked at by professionals. I definitely feel there is something in it.

I was just Googling this because I have found the same. I was only using the inhaler for a few months but my tinnitus disappeared and now I've stopped it has slowly come back
