Struggling with this now nearly 2 Months. Having further tests Chest XRay CT. Wondering if others struggled with this. So Breathless & Chest Pain Awful. Had prednisone for over a Month, soon as dose drops endless Coughing again.

Hello, I follow Lung Matters group on Facebook. I highly recommend joining this group as they follow evidence based treatment protocols in patients with bronchiectasis. There is an exacerbation protocol which may be beneficial for you as you continue to be symptomatic. Prednisone lowers our resistance to infection and increases our predisposition to multi drug resistant organism. On occasion a short term course with antibiotics may be necessary. They advocate sputum testing for drug sensitivity before taking antibiotics if possible. In addition to airway clearance twice daily with albuterol neb followed by 7% sodium chloride neb. In an exacerbation of flare up of BX, they recommend adding a 3rd neb with sodium chloride 7%. Have you had a recent CT of chest with a comparison of a prior CT. Do you have another lung condition such as COPD or asthma which might require steroids? Its really important that you submit a good sputum specimen for culture & sensitivity, AFB stain and fungus.
