Hello everyone.Diagnosed with bronchiectasis.

Is it really good to have my pneumoccocal and flu vaccines? How really important it is with bronchiectasis? And how sure it is effective? Thank you. May I have an advice to those who have taken the vaccines already?

flu and pneumonia would most likely result in serious problems in anyone with lung damage.

So, better get the vaccines??

It’s a personal choice. I have chosen to prevent as much as possible.

What I mean you chose to be vaccinated with both, dear?

I am glad to have had the vaccines, including covid. At the beginning of the panny- doo my consultant told me I wouldn't survive covid. Had all my jabs, barely noticable side effects and when I did test negative I was not very ill. But only you can decide what is appropriate and sensible for your circumstances.

I wanted to take those but I am afraid with the side effects? I mean, are vaccines not harmful? Specifically if you have been injected with many times. 😁

i worked with infectious materials------ bacteria and viruses all my working life, and as staff we had the appropriate vaccinations all arranged for us regularly as necessary .

I regard the protection given to be a benefit , and welcomed. i am now retired and got my covid jabs as soon as i could, not waiting to be called and went to local walk in centre .

Although the covid vaccine doesnt stop you getting the disease, it can lessen the effects of the disease on your body, do not refuse the jab .

For me it's about weighing up the risks and benefits. E.g. Covid would have proved fatal for me, the vaccination eased its virulence , I'm still here, happy days! But I stress this is a personal opinion, I'm not medically trained.

I'm happy to hear your explanation. And I am also happy that it worked well to you. I guess I have to get one also, just to eliminate/ lessen the serious illness I guess.

It has to be your decision.

I've had all the vaccines and all the boosters. The concern used to be more of a problem when they used live vaccines but they rarely do any more. The last one I knew of was the flu nasal version. It contained a live virus. If your concerned with what type your getting just ask,

I was recommended both and had them. No side effects and if it helps to protect me against ‘flu and pneumonia then I’m all for it. TBH I would be scared of catching either
